JM Balbuena is an author, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and US Navy Veteran. Balbuena’s work explores the intersection of policy, culture, and equity, within burgeoning alternative industries. With 10 years of experience in the cannabis and psychedelics sectors and vast experience in web3 and blockchain spaces, JM’s goal is to analyze and curate information about these novel industries. Balbuena’s work includes the award-winning books ‘The Successful Canna-Preneur’ (2020), and ‘Green Renaissance’ (2024). Balbuena independently directed and produced the documentary ‘Roll Up for Equity’, which won her the title of ‘Best Local Filmmaker’ at the San Diego Short Film Festival (2024), and ‘Best Documentary’ at San Diego Cinema Awards (2024).

A proud Navy veteran, JM brings a unique combination of discipline, creativity, and leadership to her work. Her contributions to the cannabis and psychedelics sectors include advocacy, media, and education on an international scale, spanning countries such as USA, Lebanon, Colombia, Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. With deep experience in media production, and business, JM is a trusted guide for viewers navigating the complex and rapidly changing world of alternative industries.
